Lady Rams advance

HOBGOOD – Ridgecroft School advanced to the semifinals of the Tarheel Independent Conference tournament here Monday night.

The Lady Rams knocked off Terra Ceia Christian School 53-46 to earn a trip to the semifinals at 6 p.m. Friday evening.

Brice Harrison paced the Lady Rams with 18 points, 10 of which came in the third quarter while Emily Cooke added 15 and Miller Bryant checked in with 10 points.

Ridgecroft led 9-8 after one quarter and extended their lead to 21-20 at the intermission. The third quarter was the biggest difference, however, as Harrison’s 10-point period paced Ridgecroft to a 38-30 lead.

“The team adjusted well to the defense,” said second-year Ridgecroft skipper Susan Oliver.

Sara Hackney added four points for the Lady Rams while Tayler Smith and Lauren Colson had three each.

Holly McDonald led Terra Ceia with 16 points, including a perfect 14-of-14 from the free throw line.
