James Sidney King, Sr., age 80, of the 100 block of Cliff Rd., died Wednesday, February 17, 2010, at Guardian Care of Ahoskie.
Mr. King was born in Greene County, a son of the late Ruth Pierce King and Rob Roy King, Sr. He was an army veteran of the Korean Conflict and was self employed. He was the widower of Shirley Paige King.
Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Kitty Annette King Bryant of Enfield, NC; two sons, James Sidney King, Jr. of Hampton, VA, and Lee Roy King of Cherryville, NC; grandchildren, Danielle Hope King of Greenville, NC, and Allen Wayne Bryant, Jr. of Enfield, NC; sisters, Alice K. Bazemore and Annie K. Castelloe, both of Ahoskie; and brothers, Rob Roy King, Jr. of Chesapeake, VA, and Howard King of Gretna, VA. Mr. King was predeceased by two sisters, Jean King and Joyce Ogle.
A celebration of life service will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 20, 2010, at Garrett-Jones Funeral Home in Ahoskie, with burial to follow in Harrellsville Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m., prior to services. Flowers are welcome or memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Research, 742 N.
