Shanequa K. Thompson, 17, of Thompson Road, Colerain, died Saturday, February 6, 2010 in Roanoke-Chowan Hospital, Ahoskie.
Born in Hertford County, she was a member of Oxley Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Merry Hill and a student at Bertie High School.
Survivors include her mother, Melissa Harrell of the home; her father, Wayne Thompson of Lewiston; a sister, Jasmine Thompson of the home; grandparents, Mary and Bobby Harrell of Harrellsville and Fannie Thompson of Lewiston; great-grandparents, Dora Demery of Ahoskie and Hezekiah and Marie Harrell of Gates.
A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 13 at Oxley Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Merry Hill with Rev. Vonner Horton officiating. Burial will take place in the church cemetery.
