Ethel Mae Williams, 86, of Hatton Street, Williamston, died Friday, January 29, 2010 at Williamston House.
Born in Bertie County, she was employed in farming. She relocated to Boston, Mass. and moved to Williamston in 2005. Williams was a member of Springhill Baptist Church in Lewiston.
Survivors include a son, George Williams of Boston, Mass.; three daughters, Florine Williams and Bobbie Williams, both of Boston, Mass., and Larkerkle Smallwood of Williamston; six sisters, Goldie Murphy, Lugene Woodhouse, Arlene Sanders and Gladys Hall, all of Boston, Mass., Jessenia Thompson of Lewiston and Emily Cherry of Ahoskie; two brothers, Wilbur Ruffin of Boston, Mass. and Rudolph Ruffin of New York; 18 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 6 at Springhill Baptist Church in Lewiston with the Rev. Leroy Douglas and the Rev. Robert Brown Jr. officiating. Burial will take place in the church cemetery.
A viewing will be held one hour before the funeral service.
Cherry Funeral Home, Windsor, is handling the arrangements.
