Ellen Newsome Boone Mizelle, 80, of Spring Avenue in Murfreesboro died at Roanoke Valley Health Center– Rich Square.
Born in Suffolk, Va., she was a retired cook at Chowan University and a Deaconess, Usher and Pastor’s Aid at First Baptist Church Murfreesboro in Murfreesboro.
Survivors include a daughter, Joan Britt of Como; a son, Michael Boone of Murfreesboro; a grandchild and a great-grandchild.
A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 30 at First Baptist Church Murfreesboro in Murfreesboro with the Rev. Robert Richardson officiating. Burial will take place in Carver Park Cemetery in Murfreesboro,
