William Randolph Clarke Jr., 63, of NC Hwy 37 South, Gatesville, died Friday, January 22, 2010 in his residence.
Born in Portsmouth, Va., he was retired from Norfolk Naval Shipyard and a member of Gatesville Baptist Church. Clarke was a member of the Gatesville Masonic Lodge #126 and an Eagle Scout. He also served in the US Marine Corps.
Survivors include his mother, Maxine Baker Clarke Wilson of Chesapeake, Va.; his wife, Joan Bell Clarke; three sons, William Clarke, III of Gatesville, Patrick Clarke and Quinton Clarke, both of Sunbury; two brothers, Gray and Tim Clarke, both of Virginia Beach, Va.; and six grandchildren.
A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 26 at Gatesville Baptist Church with the Rev. Gene Asbill officiating. Burial will follow in the family cemetery near the home.
The family will receive friends at the residence.
