Carolyn Johnson

The lord took his wonderful Carolyn home to live in eternal peace on Saturday, January 9th, 2010. To all she knew, she was a unique mother, sister, friend and co-worker not soon to be imitated. The 62 years we had with her was certainly not enough time to enjoy the love, warmth, and generosity that Carolyn gave to her family, friends, and all else that she met. Carolyn was survived by her son Robert Johnson who was by her side throughout her almost two year long fight with cancer. She was also survived by her sister Annette Williams of Charlottesville, VA. Carolyn had a half-brother, several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and numerous cousins that she grew up with. Carolyn enjoyed working almost one-third of her life at Roanoke-Chowan Hospital which also served as an extended family. We ask that in lieu of courtesies to the family, please consider a donation in Carolyn’s honor to University Health Systems Hospice of Ahoskie. The entire Hospice staff will be forever remembered for the care and superior attention that was provided daily. The family emphatically thanks Miller Funeral Home of Gatesville/Edenton for professionally providing their services to honor Carolyn’s wishes of a cremation, with the utmost attention shown for privacy and discretion. Memorial services will be held at Center Grove Baptist Church of Ahoskie on Saturday, January 23, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. Casual attire appreciated.
