Willie Smith Jr., 71, of Rich Square died Saturday, January 9, 2010 at Halifax Regional Medical Center in Roanoke Rapids.
Born in Northampton County, he was a retired worker with a moving company and a member of Chapel Hill Baptist Church in Rich Square.
Survivors include a sister, Mable Robinson Maggette of Rich Square; two brothers, Edward Smith of Rich Square and Bishop James Author Smith of Baltimore, Md.
A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 16 at Chapel Hill Baptist Church, Rich Square, with the Rev. Ronald Taylor officiating. Burial will take place in the church cemetery.
Wilder’s Funeral Home Inc., Rich Square, is handling the arrangements.
