Carey Woodard Eason, 96, of Harrell’s Church Road, died Saturday, January 10, 2010 at his residence.
Born in Chowan County, he was a retired farmer and poultry egg dealer and was a member of Eure Christian Church but attended Eure Baptist Church for many years.
Survivors include two daughters, Doris E. Ward of Graham and Judy E. Eure of Gatesville; a sister, Grace E. Ober of Edenton; a brother, Rufus Eason of Portsmouth, Va.; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A graveside service was held Monday, Jan. 11 in Eure Christian Church Cemetery by the Rev. Michael Brinkley and Dr. Wayne Proctor.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Eure Christian Church Cemetery Fund or the Eure Baptist Church Building Fund; both in Eure, NC 27935.
