AHOSKIE – Brian Pavlick has joined Roanoke-Chowan Publications as Advertising Director.

Pavlick comes to northeastern North Carolina from the Shelby County Reporter in Alabama where he served as Assistant Advertising Manager. Shelby County is located in the Birmingham, Ala. metro area.

The Shelby County Reporter is part of Boone Newspapers, Inc. BNI also owns Roanoke-Chowan Publications, which includes the Roanoke-Chowan News-Herald, Gates County Index and Roanoke-Chowan Shopper.

Brian and his wife, Mattea, are the proud parents of a 16-month-old daughter, Addison.

“Ever since we visited, the people of this area have opened their arms and welcomed my family,” he said. “We appreciate everyone’s thoughts and prayers during this transition and look forward to getting involved in many ways in Ahoskie and the entire Roanoke-Chowan area.”

Pavlick is extremely community oriented, serving in various Chambers of Commerce as well as being involved with the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life. He was also actively involved with the Newspaper Management Institute and the Alabama Press Association.

A football fan of the University of Alabama, which captured the national championship on Thursday night, Pavlick is also a music and movie enthusiast.

“Brian brings a lot of energy and creativity to our sales staff. He has been part of a very successful newspaper team in Shelby County and we are excited to have him on board,” stated Steve Stewart, Vice President of Boone Newspapers, Inc. and interim publisher of Roanoke-Chowan Publications.

With R-CP, Pavlick succeeds William “Bob” Taylor who resigned due to health reasons.
