Eddie Chambers Jr., 62, of Benthall Bridge Road, Woodland, died Saturday, January 2, 2010 at Pitt County Memorial Hospital, Greenville.
A native of Hope, Arkansas, he was a member of Menola Baptist Church, Woodland, and served in the US Army.
He was a retired correctional officer at Odom Prison.
Survivors include his wife, Maudie Vinson Chambers of the home; daughters, Leslie Mehta of Concord, CA, Lisa Chambers of Anderson, SC and L. Denise Chambers of Greensboro; a brother, Andrew Chambers of Hope, ARK; and sisters, Georgia Ruth James of Marshall, TX, Lillie Ruth Reed and Bessie Stuart, both of Hope, ARK and Barbara Brooks of Flint, MI.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 6 at Menola Baptist Church with the Rev. Johnnie Speller officiating. Burial will be in the Vinson Family Cemetery, Woodland.
