Shelby Lee Speight, 70, of U.S. 158 West, died Thursday, December 24, 2009 at her residence.
Born in Gates County, she was retired from the Gates County School System where she worked as a secretary.
Survivors include a brother, Thomas H. Speight of Gates.
A funeral was held Monday, Dec. 28 in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home. Rev. Tracy Clayton officiated. Burial took place in the Gatesville Cemetery.
