Mary Alice Carter, 85, of Murfreesboro died Saturday, December 26, 2009 at Guardian Care Nursing Home.
She was a native of Hertford County.
Survivors include three sons, George Carter of Murfreesboro, Michael Carter of Pendleton and Lemuel Carter of Queens, NY; two daughters, Dorothy Blake of New York, NY and Debra Carter of Murfreesboro; two brothers, Richard Lassiter of Portsmouth, Va. and Elton Lassiter of Baltimore, Md.; three sisters, Catherine Byerson of Murfreesboro, Claire Coston of Portsmouth, Va. and Janette Bullock of Murfreesboro; 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 31 at Greater Harvest in Aulander with Bishop Leroy Jackson Woolard officiating. Burial will take place in Carver Park Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 30 at Hertford County Undertakers, Winton.
