Howard Jessie Asbell, 79, of US 17 North, Windsor died Saturday, December 12, 2009.
A native of Bertie County, he was retired from R.J. Reynolds Company and a member of Greens Cross Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Byrum Asbell of Windsor; a daughter, Cathy A. Winstead of Williamston, a son, Darryl Asbell of Windsor; a sister, Betty Mizelle of Windsor; and four grandchildren.
A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 15 at Greens Cross Baptist Church with the Rev. Woody Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in Edgewood Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at their home.
