Denise Hux Brown, 50, of Jackson died Thursday, November 26, 2009 at Hampton Woods Nursing Home, Jackson.
A native of Kinston, she was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Richard Keith Brown Sr. of the home; a daughter, Stephanie K. Freeman of Jackson; a son, John T. Gerlinger of Raleigh; a step-son, Richard K. Brown Jr.; a sister, Lisa Hux of Salvo; a brother, Steven T. Hux of Raleigh; a grandson; and her mother, Frances H. Hux of Tarboro.
A service was held on Monday, Nov. 30 at Jackson United Methodist Church. Upon Brown’s request, her ashes will be spread at Cape Point in Buxton.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation or the American Cancer Society.
Massey Funeral Home, Jackson, is handling the arrangements.
