Barbara Bond

Barbara Cherry Bond, 80, died Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at Blue Ridge Health Care Facility, Raleigh.
She was an agent for the North Carolina Mutual Life Insurance Co. She also worked at the elementary school in the reading lab in Windsor.
Bond was a member of Indian Woods Missionary Baptist Church, before moving to Atlantic City, NJ, where she was a founding member of the Greater Exodus Missionary Baptist Church and the Cathedral of the Holy Spirit. She was the President of the Lydia Missionary Ministry and a senior adult Sunday school teacher.
Survivors include a son, Ambrose L. Bond of Raleigh; two daughters, Viola Burnell Bond of Atlantic City, NJ and Phachita R. Moore of Gardner, Mass.; two sisters, Sarah White of Piscataway, NJ and Marion Becks of Oakland, Calif.; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A funeral was held Saturday, Nov. 28 at Indian Woods Missionary Baptist Church, Windsor. Rev. Ralph D. White officiated. Burial took place in the Gilliam-Bond Family Cemetery, Windsor.
Cherry Funeral Home, Windsor, handled the arrangements.
