Betsy Brinkley Briggs, 52, of Highway 158 East, Sunbury, died Thursday, November 19, 2009 at her residence.
A native of Suffolk, Va. she worked in parts sales with Diehl-Clayton Equipment, Inc., Gatesville and later managed the family restaurant, Herb’s Bar-B-Q, in Suffolk, Va. She was a member of Middle Swamp Baptist Church.
Survivors include her mother, Mildred Jernigan Brinkley of Suffolk, Va.; her husband, Tim Briggs; a daughter, Brianna Len O’Berry of the home; two sisters, Cynthia B. Winslow and Melinda B. Trostle, both of Suffolk; and a brother, Bert Brinkley of Hickory, NC;.
Funeral services were held Sunday, Nov. 22 in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home, Gatesville. Rev. Burt Pearce officiated. Burial followed in the Briggs Family Cemetery on Acorn Hill Road.
