Quinton Hugh Whitaker, 69, of Cofield died Saturday, November 7, 2009 at his residence.
Survivors include his wife, Julia Melton Whitaker of Cofield; a son, Varney Q. Whitaker of Durham; a brother, Lyman Whitaker of Newport News, VA; four sisters, Ruth Hopson of Hampton, VA, Theresa Picot and Reba Whitaker, both of Maryland, and Jennifer Simmons of Murfreesboro; and nine grandchildren
A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 12 at Phillipi Baptist Church, Cofield, with the Rev. William Lassiter officiating. Burial will take place in the church cemetery.
A viewing will be held from 2-7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 11 at Reynolds Funeral Home Chapel.
