Christine Umphlett Brinkley, age 79 of Ahoskie, died Sunday, November 8, 2009 at Guardian Care Nursing Home of Ahoskie.
She was born February 25, 1930 in Gates County to the late David Randolph Umphlett and Patty Eure Umphlett. She was the wife of the late George Alphus Brinkley.
She was a homemaker, a loving wife, loving mother, loving grandmother, loving great grandmother and a member of Brantley’s Grove Baptist Church.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at 11:00 AM at the graveside in Brinkley Cemetery. Rev. J.N. Baggett will officiate.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Brenda Brinkley Copeland and her husband, Billy, Kathy Brinkley Sumner and her husband, Ronnie, and Debbie Brinkley Morris and her husband, Jerry, all of Ahoskie; grandchildren, Bill Copeland, Renee Boswell, Rebeccah Adams, George Michael Bradley, Johnathan Bradley, Matthew Bradley and Brad Morris; and 10 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the home of her daughter, Brenda Copeland.
