Ruth Shaw Cherry, 79, of Colerain died Saturday, October 17, 2009 at the Brian Center in Windsor.
A native of Bertie County, she was a homemaker and a member of New Holley Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Carol Jefferson of San Diego, Calif.; two sisters, Dorothy Wynn of Colerain and Clara Miller of Brooklyn, NY; and one grandchild.
A funeral will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, Oct. 24 at New Holley Baptist Church. Burial will take place at Holley Family Cemetery.
