Jasper Turner Jr., 51, of Gaston died Friday, Oct. 9, 2009 at Duke Hospital in Durham.
He was a native of Roanoke Rapids.
Survivors include his wife, Lillian Shaw Turner; a daughter, Glenda Turner of Roanoke Rapids, a son, Stacy McLeod of Gaston; two step children, Amy Gonzales and Jason McLeod, both of Roanoke Rapids; his mother, Lillie Mae Price Turner of Gaston; three sisters, Linda Acree and Vickie Turner, both of Gaston, and Cindy McCorkle of Cary; a brother, Michael Turner of Gaston; and eight grandchildren.
A funeral was held on Monday, Oct. 12 at Massey Funeral Home in Roanoke Rapids with Evangelist Chuck Podruchny officiating. Burial followed at Beechwood Cemetery in Boykins, Va.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Jasper Turner Jr. Memorial Fund, c/o Southern Bank and Trust, P.O. Box 128, Seaboard, NC 27876.
Massey Funeral Home, Roanoke Rapids, handled the arrangements.
