Pastor Naomi Eason Baker, 77, of Ocean Highway North in Hertford died Thursday, September 24, 2009 at Sentara Heart Hospital in Norfolk, Va.
She was the pastor of First Gospel Tabernacle Church in Hertford.
Survivors include four daughters, James Carolyn Wynn of Hertford, Laverne Norman of Elizabeth City, Janice James of Jamesville and Terri Welch of Charlotte; two sons, Bevin Baker of Milwaukee, Wis. and Danny Baker of Newport News, VA; three sisters, Dorothy Tillett and Louise Parker, both of Hertford, and Irene Phillips of Virginia Beach, VA.; a brother, Claude Brooks of Hertford; and 13 grandchildren.
A funeral was held on Sunday, Sept. 27 at First Gospel Tabernacle Church, Winfall, with Bishop John S. Harrell officiating and Bishop Winfred Hamlet offering the eulogy. Burial took place in the Eason Family Cemetery, Hertford.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to First Gospel Tabernacle Church, Hertford.
Stallings Memorial Chapel, Hertford, handled the arrangements.
