Herman Gatling, 87, of Murfreesboro died Saturday, September 26, 2009 at Roanoke Chowan Hospital, Ahoskie.
He was a native of Currituck, Va.
Survivors include his wife, Elsie Gatling of Murfreesboro; a son, Marvin Gatling of Murfreesboro; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 1 at New Beginnings Baptist Church, Murfreesboro, with the Rev. Shirley Johnson officiating. Burial will take place in Carvers Park Cemetery.
Hertford County Undertakers, Winton, is handling the arrangements.
