Katherine Evelyn Harrison, 76, of the 100 block of Lawrence Lane, died Thursday, September 17, 2009 in a Norfolk hospital.
A native of Suffolk, VA, she was the owner-manager of Ben’s Discount in Ahoskie.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Harrison Sr., and a son, John D. Harrison.
Survivors include three daughters, Katherine Lowe and husband, James, of Windsor, Patricia Elliott of Jamesville and Kristine Pierce and husband, Aaron, of Portland, OR; two sons, Benjamin Harrison Jr. and wife, Susan, of Chesapeake, VA and Michael Keith Harrison and partner, Michael Darnell, of Greensboro; two sisters, Virginia Jenkins of Williamsburg, VA and Shirley Carpenter of Lancaster, VA; 12 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
A funeral was held at 11 a.m. Monday, September 21, in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by Chaplain Fred Hilder. Burial followed in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens.
