GARYSBURG — A weekend wreck that claimed the life of a Roanoke Rapids woman near here is still being investigated, according to the North Carolina Highway Patrol.
On Saturday night, Felicia Harris of Roanoke Rapids died after her car was involved in a collision with another vehicle on U.S. 158 near Garysburg.
According to Highway Patrol Troop C District 8 First Sergeant J.A. Cameron, Harris was traveling west when a collision occurred with an eastbound vehicle driven by Pamela Hayes of Windsor at 8:39 p.m.
The report, filed by Trooper K.D. Mills, said Harris was ejected from her vehicle.
Cameron said the wreck is still under investigation.
A recon team will retrieve information from both of the vehicles’ computer systems to check for speed and other clues as to how the collision occurred. Laser technology will assist in measuring the accident scene. Highway Patrol Sgt. E.S. Schaberg is heading the investigation.
