Mabel Morgan Jones, 87 of Morris Ford Road, died Saturday, September 12, 2009 at Bertie Memorial Hospital, Windsor.
A native of Chowan County, she was a homemaker and a member of Mars Hill Baptist Church and their Women’s Missionary Union.
Survivors include a daughter, Kay Early of Apex; two sons, Roger Jones of Colerain and Edmond Jones of Mobile, AL; two brothers, Wallace Morgan of Harrellsville and Carlton Morgan of Smithfield, VA; a half brother, Howard Morgan of Crouse, NC; two half sisters, Carolyn Powell of San Diego, CA and Peggy Grover of Black Creek, NC; a step sister, Roxie Blanchard of Hobbsville; nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 15 at Highland Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Billy Presley officiating. Friends may join the family at the home of her son, Roger Jones.
