Eva Edward Bowen Miller, 90, died Saturday, September 12, 2009 in the Skilled Nursing Facility of Chowan Hospital, Edenton.
A native of Bertie County, she was a member of Riverside Baptist Church where she was active in the Women’s Missionary Union, the Adult Choir and the Adult Sunday School Class.
An accomplished seamstress, she worked at Ahoskie Manufacturing Co., Fiberform Boats, Ivey Meadows Upholstery and C & J Meats.
Surviving are three daughters, Joyce M. Magruder of Hampton, VA and Gail M. Forehand and Lynn M. Forehand, both of Edenton; sisters, Mary Alice Jones of Jamestown, NC and Janice Bowen of Britthaven of Edenton; a brother, Carroll Bowen of Windsor; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and 25 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 15 at Riverside Baptist Church by the Revs. Woody Copeland and Jim Reamy. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may join the family at Gail Forehand’s home, 419 Mexico Road, Edenton, and at the residence, 522 Farless Road, Merry Hill on the day of the funeral.
