Lenora Cook

Lenora White Cook passed away on September 7, 2009.
She was born November 18, 1925, in Bertie County, North Carolina. She was the daughter of the late Lossie Dunn and Richard Carson White. Lenora was preceded in death by her husband, Larna Willard Cook; and sisters, Etta Jenkins; Ethel Andrews; Virginia Vaughan and Ruth White.
She leaves to cherish her memory, daughters, Brenda Cook of Tarboro, NC; Sue Zumbro, Sugar Hill, GA; Opal Murden, Suffolk, VA and daughter-in-law, Bogie Cook, Carolina Beach, NC; sisters, Rachel Hoard and husband, Chick of Tarboro, NC; Grace Robinson of Ashland, VA, Ada Joyner and husband, Eugene of Richmond, VA; brother, Luther White of Tarboro, NC; eight grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and three special great-nieces, Joy, Faith and Grace Hoard of Ayden, NC.
Lenora loved and was loved by everyone and has been a blessing and inspiration to all who came in contact with her.
Lenora resided in Tarboro for sixteen years. She and her family deeply appreciate the love, care and concern the Heritage Hospital staff provided for her during her final hours. A special thanks to Dr. Rita Mullins and Dr. J. Patel for their many years of commitment to Lenora’s health and care.
A memorial service was held on September 10 at Carlisle Funeral Home in Tarboro, NC. Robert Ormond and Julian Thompson will officiate the services at Carlisle Funeral Home and James Scholfield presented the eulogy on September 11 at the Florence County Memorial Gardens, Florence, SC, where Lenora will be laid to rest.
