Willie Cecil Capehart, 93, of Cedar Avenue in Newport News, Va. died Tuesday, September 1, 2009 at Sentara Complex in Hampton, Va.
A native of Merry Hill in Bertie County, he was a member of Ashland Baptist Church in Merry Hill and Antioch Baptist Church in Hampton, Va. He was retired from the Newport News Shipbuilding and Drydock Company.
Survivors include two sons, Herman Capehart of Fayetteville and Johnnie Capehart of Cheltenham, MD; a brother, William Daniel Capehart of Newport News, Va.; six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
A funeral will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 5 at Antioch Baptist Church in Newport News, Va. with the Rev. William Greene Jr. officiating. Burial will take place at 2:30 p.m. in Ashland Baptist Church in Merry Hill with the Rev. Willie. J. Best Jr. presiding.
