Joseph Young

Joseph “Joey” Brown Young, 32, died Saturday, August 29, 2009 at his home in the Pendleton Community.
He had been preceded in death by his father, Joseph Little Young and grandparents, Hinton and Elizabeth Britton and Joseph Jennings Young.
A native of Pendleton he was a devoted son, grandson, brother, and friend who always had a friendly smile, laughed a lot, loved children, and enjoyed playing practical jokes on his friends. His favorite things were going to the beach, especially OBX, the Dallas Cowboys, playing the drums and playing pool and monkeys.
He was the Second Shift Supervisor at Hampton Farms Industrial Plant in Severn and was a member of Roberts Chapel Baptist Church.
Survivors include his mother, Betty Jo Britton Young of Pendleton; one sister, Betty Lou Young of Pendleton; grandmother, Evelyn Louise Young of Aulander; nephews, Joseph Bradley White, Brandon Dale White and Brayden Shane Yandle, all of Pendleton; and a lifelong friend, Misty Lynch.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 3 in Conway Baptist Church with Dr. James Crocker and the Rev. Bruce Dayton presiding. Burial will follow in the Roberts Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery.
