Frank Richard Kerns, 79, of Suffolk, Va., formally of Ahoskie, died Friday, August 21, 2009.
He was a native of West Virginia.
Survivors include his wife, Hazel Kerns of Suffolk, VA; three sons, James Kerns of Suffolk, VA, Robert Kerns of Moyock and Kevin Kerns of Axton, VA; five daughters, Linda Jackson of Lockport, NY, Heidi Lassiter of Ahoskie, Wendy Phelps of Aulander, Tanya Hall of Virginia Beach, VA and Crystal Schneidt of Mustang, Okla.; two brothers, Chester and Douglas Kerns, both of Craigsville, West Va.; a sister, Annie Case of Craigsville, West Va.; 25 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
A funeral was held on Wednesday, Aug. 26 at Simons-Coleman Funeral Home in Richwood, West Va. with Maj. Calvin Calterbuck and Pastor Dr. David Belvins officiating. Burial followed at the Kerns Family Cemetery in Cottle, West Va.
Simons-Coleman Funeral Home, Richwood, West Va., handled the arrangements.
