Olivia McKinley “Libby” Greene, age 56, of the 100 block of W. Mulberry Street, died Saturday, August 22, 2009, at Roanoke Chowan Hospital.
Mrs. Greene was born on September 25, 1952, in Portsmouth, VA, a daughter of the late Harrison Alfred and Olivia Stephenson McKinley. She was a member of Winton Baptist Church and worked as an admissions coordinator at Roanoke Chowan Hospital.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband, James S. Greene; daughters, Pam Wills and her family of Wakefield, VA; and Lynn Greene of Winton; a son, Sammy Greene and family of Corapeake, NC; a sister, Trudy Williams of Suffolk, VA; a brother Buddy McKinley and family of Eclipse, VA; a niece Trudy Harris and her children, who Libby considered her grandchildren and a nephew, Jamie Williams. She also leaves behind her two dearest friends, Pam and Glema.
A graveside celebration of life service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 25, 2009, at the Winton Baptist Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Joseph Futrell officiating. The family will receive friends at Garrett-Jones Funeral Home in Ahoskie, from 7:00 until 8:30 p.m. on Monday, August 24, and other times at the home.
