James Melvin Gregory, 62, of Roanoke Rapids died Friday, August 14, 2009 at his residence.
A native of Northampton County, he was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in the Vietnam War.
Survivors include his wife, Marie Faithful Gregory; three children, Casey Gregory of Red Oak, and Samantha Gregory and John Gregory, both of Roanoke Rapids; his father, James Gregory of Roanoke Rapids; two sisters, Sue Brooks and Lola Cornwell, both of Conway; four brothers, Pastor Donald Gregory, Randy Gregory and Gene Gregory, all of Roanoke Rapids, and Terry Gregory of Conway; and four grandchildren.
A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 18 at Fresh Fire Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Donald Gregory and the Rev. Dean Jarvis officiating. Burial will follow at Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids with military honors.
