JACKSON – Raymond G. Turner Jr., 57, of Jackson died Sunday, August 2, 2009 at his home.
He was the owner of Turner’s Garage and Wrecker Service, near Jackson since 1973. He was past President and past board member of the Independent Garage Owners Association. He was past President of the Jackson Lions Club where he had served for eight years.
Survivors include his wife, Johnnie Hale Turner; his father and mother, Raymond G. Turner Sr. and Clara Bell Johnson Turner of Jackson; a brother, Jack Turner of Newsomes, VA; a son, Raymond Grays Turner III of Gaston; daughters, Tonya S. Garner and Tammy A. Vick, both of Louisburg; and six grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, August 5 at Massey Funeral Home in Roanoke Rapids with the Rev. Joe McLean officiating. Burial will follow at Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids.
The family will receive friends at Massey Funeral Home in Roanoke Rapids on Tuesday, Aug. 4 from 7-9 p.m.
