Phyllis DeBerry

Phyllis Joyce Davis DeBerry, 66, died Tuesday, July 14 at Roanoke Chowan Hospital in Ahoskie.
She had been preceded in death by her father Woodrow Wilson Davis.
A native of Northampton County, she worked for over 10 years as a post mistress with the U.S. Postal Service serving several North Carolina post offices. She was a loving mother and homemaker and was a member of Galatia Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband of 43 years B. W. DeBerry of their home near Conway; a son Jim Ed DeBerry and his wife Patsy Wright DeBerry of Hertford; her mother Maryella Futrell Davis of Conway; and a brother Larry Wilson Davis of Conway.
Graveside services were held Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Town of Conway Cemetery with Rev. David Foster presiding. The family received friends at Bridgers Funeral Home, Inc. in Conway, Friday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and have requested that anyone wishing to share a memorial gift, do so to Galatia Baptist Church.
