Mabel Vinson

Mabel Long Vinson, 86, of the 1000 block of Pine Forest Trail, formerly of Murfreesboro, died Sunday, July 12, 2009 at Rex Hospital in Raleigh.
Mrs. Vinson was born in Horry County, SC, a daughter of the late Jessie Evant and Lizzie Hewitt Long. She was the widow of John Elton Vinson; a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, and a homemaker. She was a member of Meherrin Baptist Church.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Mary Vinson Crozier of Elsberry, MO; her son, Dan Vinson of Raleigh; a sister, Eva Long Elderdice of Loris, SC; six grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Besides her husband, Mrs. Vinson was predeceased by two sons, John Edwin Vinson and Robert Elton Vinson.
A celebration of life service will be conducted on Thursday, July 16, 2009 at 2 p.m. at Meherrin Baptist Church with the Rev. Kevin Mullen and the Rev. Josh Parsons officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Garrett-Jones Funeral Home, Ahoskie, from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 15.
