Second M’boro concert set

The Town of Murfreesboro and the Murfreesboro Chamber of Commerce are gearing up for the second in the Downtown Summer Sounds concert series jointly sponsored by the two organizations.
On June 9, the Shiloh Grass Band will perform bluegrass music on the lawn in front of the Roberts Vaughan Village Center, 116 East Main Street in Murfreesboro.
The concert will get under way at 6:30 p.m. and conclude by 8 p.m.
Concert goers are urged to bring lawn chairs or a picnic blanket.
The concert is free.
The first concert in the series featured the Naval Fleet Jazz Band on June 11.
Coming concerts will include:
The Harmonizing Jubilee (gospel music) on July 23;
Cross Creek Band (variety) on Aug. 13;
Chowan and Murfreesboro Talent Night on Aug. 27; and
The Chowan Faculty Gala Recital on Sept. 10.
With the exception of the Chowan Faculty Gala Recital, all concerts will begin at 6:30 p.m. and conclude at 8 p.m., and all will be on the lawn of the Roberts Vaughan Village Center.
That final event will begin at 7:30 p.m. in Turner Auditorium on the Chowan University Campus.
