Samuel Harden

Samuel Murray “Drake” Harden, 86, of Cooper Hill Road, Windsor, died Thursday, June 25, 2009 at Bertie Memorial Hospital, Windsor.
A native of Bertie County, he was a Deacon and member of Lawrence Baptist Church and a former member of the Veteran’s Club. He served during World War II in the US Army’s Company “D” 1st Tank Battalion.
Survivors include his wife, Linda White Harden; daughters, Vicky H. Willis of Merry Hill, Sherly H. Vick of Tarboro and Penny H. Rasberry of Winterville; a son, Charles Murray Harden of Windsor; brother, Cecil “Buck” Harden of Windsor; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
The Rev. Harvey Jackson and the Rev. J. N. Baggett will hold funeral services at 11 a.m. on Saturday June 27 at Lawrence Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Edgewood Cemetery with Military Honors.
The family will receive friends from the home.
