Thelma Adkins Odom, 90, of Kelly’s Beach Road, Tyner, died Saturday, June 20, 2009 in Sentara Williamsburg Medical Center, Williamsburg, VA.
She was a native of Hertford County and retired as a secretary from Langley Air Force Exchange Service. She was a member of Ballard’s Bridge Baptist Church, its Adult Ladies Sunday School Class, and Omera Chapter #31, The Order of the Eastern Star in Newport News.
Surviving are one daughter, Paulette Odom Blankinship of Williamsburg, VA; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 24 in Ballard’s Bridge Baptist Church by the Rev. Ron Parr. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Friends may join the family Tuesday from 7-8 p.m. in Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, and all other times at the residence.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Ballard’s Bridge Baptist Church, 3025 Virginia Road, Tyner, NC 27980 and be directed for use in the Family Life Center.
