Gertrude Jenkins

Gertrude Jenkins, 82, of Lake Drive, Lewiston, died Friday, June 19, 2009 at Three Rivers Health and Rehabilitation Center, Windsor.
Born in Hertford County, she was a member of Mill Branch Baptist Church, Aulander. She had retired as a cook at Aulander Café.
Survivors include her sons, Thomas E. Jenkins and David “Jack” Jenkins, both of Washington, DC; daughters, Annie Mae Croft of Bronx, NY, Connie Gayles of Alexandria, VA, Ernestine Lee of Windsor and Josephine Jenkins of Lewiston; sisters, Janie Lee and Mae Ruth Lee, both of Aulander, and Magaline Hardy of Roxobel; 33 grandchildren, 63 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 25 at Metropolitan Interdenominational Church of God, Aulander, with the Rev. Elbert Lee officiating. Burial will be in Wilder-Cherry Family Cemetery, Aulander.
Wilder’s Funeral Home Inc., Aulander, is handling the arrangements.
