Catherine H. Ruffin, 82, of Kelford died Monday, June 15, 2009 at Roanoke Chowan Hospital, Ahoskie.
A native of Bertie County, she was a member of Conocanary
Baptist Church where she served as Deaconess and Past Financial Secretary. She was also a member of Royal Star 606, Kelford.
She was retired from John B. Bond School as luncheon manager. She worked also as an insurance agent for Hunter’s Funeral Home.
Survivors include her husband, John A. Ruffin of the home; four sons, Kenneth Ruffin of Lewiston, Elliott Ruffin of Kelford, Vincent Ruffin of Dunn and Arthur C. Smallwood of Greenville; four daughters, Carrie R. Crowe of Williamston, Josephine E. Latham of Carmel, IN, Irence R. Hardy of Hampton, NC and Marinda L. Ruffin of Sanford; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 21 at Conocanary Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Walton officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
