Elbert Maddry Morris, 88, of Perrytown Road, Colerain, died Sunday, June 14, 2009 at Pitt Memorial Hospital, Greenville.
A native of Bertie County, he was a member of Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church, Colerain. He served in the US Army.
Survivors include his wife, Etta Perry Morris of the home; sons, Marvin Morris and Edward Morris, both of Colerain; daughters, Thelma Bass of Colerain and Synthia Leary of Windsor; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 19 at Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Nathaniel Thompson officiating. Burial will be in Morris Family Cemetery, Colerain.
