Tommy Floyd Baker, 72, died Wednesday, June 3, 2009.
A lifelong resident of Bertie County, he was a retired farmer, mechanic and musician.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Holly Baker and Sally Frances Phelps Baker
He is survived by his devoted wife of 38 years, Barbara W. Baker of Colerain; son, Barry H. Baker and wife, Melanie, of Greenville; step-daughters, Wanda R. Martin of Windsor and special friend Garland Blick of Smithfield, VA, Debbie R. White and husband, Edward, of Forreston TX and Carol R. Coats and husband, Dexter, of Ahoskie; step-son, Don C. Richmond and wife, Kathy, of Ahoskie; nine step-grandchildren and five step-great grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, June 14, 2009 at Walker Funeral Home, Windsor, by the Rev. David Baker. The family will receive friends following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Perrytown Vol. Fire Department, 933 Pine Ridge Road, Merry Hill, NC 27957.
