James Ernest Peele, 66, of Aulander died Monday, May 25, 2009 at Bertie Memorial Hospital, Windsor.
Survivors include his wife, Dianne Peele of Aulander; brother, Cornelius Peele of Windsor; sister, Emmaline Anderson of Brooklyn, NY; sons, James Peele Jr. of Virginia and Anthony Cherry of Winston-Salem; daughters, Coretta Peele, Melissa Peele, Deborah Peele and Patricia Peele, all of Virginia; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled for 5-7 p.m. on Friday, May 29 at the Reynolds Funeral Home Chapel, Ahoskie.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 30 at Mt. Ararat Baptist Church, Windsor with the Rev. Collins officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
