Julia Cahoon

Julia Hardy Cahoon, 85, died Sunday, May 17, 2009 at Wake Medical Hospital in Cary.
A native of Bertie County, she was a member of the Kelford Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for 60-plus years. She was a choir member and deacon of the church for many years. She was a volunteer for the Kelford Rescue Squad, serving as an EMT. She was a seamstress.
Survivors include a daughter, Faye Cahoon-Byrd of Cary; a son, Dexter Cahoon of Huntersville; two grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Thursday, May 21 at the Kelford Baptist Church with the Rev. Doug Spivey officiating. Burial will follow at the Roxobel-Kelford Cemetery in Roxobel.
The family will have visitation at the Kelford Baptist Church on Thursday from 12 noon until time of service.
