Hazel Carr

Hazel Duck Carr, 77, died May 13, 2009 at her residence.
She was born in Isle of Wight County, a daughter of the late Lafayette Edward and Evie Bland Duck. She was predeceased by a sister, Lorraine Wilson, and two brothers, Horace and Leo Bradshaw.
Mrs. Carr was retired as a clerk from Southampton Memorial Hospital and was a member of the Black Creek/Burdette Ruritan Club. She was a member of Black Creek Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School over forty years.
Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Miles Lee Carr Sr.; three sons, Miles L. Carr, Jr. and wife, Pam, of Como, Sammy Carr and wife, Amy, of Zuni, VA and Robby Carr and wife, Dana, of Franklin, VA; one sister, Evie Mae Burgess of Franklin, VA; seven grandchildren, Clifton Carr, Marty Carr, Rachel Lassiter, Katie Carr, Bob Carr, Dakota Lettieri and D. J. Lettieri; and two great-grandchildren, Carleigh Renee Lassiter and Colton Miles Carr.
The funeral service will be conducted at 11 am Saturday, May 16 at Black Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Greg Kitts officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 pm Friday, May 15 at Wright Funeral Home in Franklin, Va. and suggests memorials be made to the Black Creek Baptist Church Building Fund, 34163 Vicksville Road, Franklin, Va. 23851. www.wrightfuneralhome.org
