Cora Alma Smallwood White, 79, of Windsor died on Monday, May 4, 2009.
A member of Indian Woods Missionary Baptist Church, she was retired from Perdue Farms, Inc. and worked as a Nursing Assistant for several years after her retirement. She was the Past Matron and a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Cashie Chapter #261 and served four years on the Bertie Board of Education.
Survivors include her husband, Solomon White, Jr.; five sons, Warren White of Chester, VA, Charlie White of Harrisburg, PA, Stuart White of Colonial Heights, VA, Solomon White III of Glen Allen, VA and Hal White of Windsor; three daughters, Pamela Hayes of Windsor, Jessica Roscoe of Windsor and Norma White of Richmond VA; two sisters, Gora S. Gilliam of Washington, D.C. and Annie S. Jones of Bronx, NY; two brothers, Johnnie Smallwood and Robert T. Smallwood, both of Windsor; 18 grandchildren and 13 great grand children.
A funeral was held Friday, May 8 at Indian Missionary Baptist Church in Windsor with Rev. Ralph D. White officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Cherry Funeral Home, Windsor, handled the arrangements.
