Thomas Dickens

Thomas Lee Dickens, 81, of Baker Store Road, Woodland, died Tuesday, April 28, 2009 at Guardian Care Nursing Home, Ahoskie.
A native of Edgecombe County, he was a member of Menola Baptist Church, Woodland, and a member of Leigh Beauty Lodge # 58 of Woodland.
He was a retired saw operator at Shackleford Lumber Company.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Spruill Dickens of the home; daughters, Minnie Harrell of Norfolk, VA, Christine Clark of Aulander, Flossie Spruill of Kelford, Maggie Sessoms of Lewiston, Louise Holmes of Baltimore, MD and Helen Spruill of Westbury, NJ; a sister, Cornelia Parker of East Orange, NJ; 23 grandchildren, 61 great-grandchildren and numerous great-great grandchildren
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 2 at Menola Baptist Church with the Rev. Johnnie Speller officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Wilder’s Funeral Home Inc., Aulander, is in charge of the arrangements.
