Josephine Spivey, 83, of Colerain died Friday, April 24, 2009 at Brian Center Nursing Home, Windsor.
A native of Bertie County, she was a member of Greater Wynn’s Grove Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include three sons, George Spivey of Middletown, CT, Larfate Spivey of Meriden, CT and Clinton Spivey of Cromwell, CT; three daughters, Lois Cherry of Colerain, Barbara Hoggard and Mamie Rankins, both of Middletown, CT; a brother, Samuel Chamblee of Hampton, VA; four sisters, Novell White, Carolyn Bazemore of Delaware, Louise Cherry of Ahoskie and Clara Watford of Hampton, VA; 26 grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 29 by Bishop Thomas Lee at Greater Wynn’s Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
