Janie Baggett Brinkley, 80, of the 600 block of NC Hwy 561, West, died Saturday, April 25, 2009, at Roanoke Chowan Hospital.
Mrs. Brinkley was born in Northampton County, a daughter of the late Walter and Nettie Blowe Baggett. She was a member of Union Baptist Church and the W.M.U. and was a homemaker.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Jack Elbert Brinkley; a son, Jackie R. Brinkley and wife, Anne, of Ahoskie; her grandchildren, Josh P. Brinkley and his wife, Jessica, of Ahoskie and Sheri Brinkley Futrell and husband, Michael, of Winton; and two great grandchildren, Steven Futrell and Michaela Futrell.
A celebration of life service was conducted on Monday, April 27, 2009, at Union Baptist Church, with the Rev. Curtis Pixler officiating. Burial followed in the Brinkley Family Cemetery, Ahoskie.
The family will receive friends at the home.
